I liked this, It was a Garfield CGI done right.

I Thought this movie was actually pretty good. For one thing it was written by Jim Davis, garfield's creator, second of all the animation style is the best way to make a comic strip movie, clever, simple, and kind of crowded. Garfield, odie and jon are designed exactly as they look in the comic strips. The humor goes unchanged, its a Garfield being hisself, and the new characters are pretty, dare i say "Cute". I was also glad to see a few cameos by my other favorite comic strip character, Dagwood. The movie has heart in addition, to its basically Classic, clever humor.

My only real complaints about it is the animation is a little bit slow at times.
And some of the jokes seem like really quick. But comic strips are really quick too, 3 blocks? come on

I would give it 7.5 out of 10

No they're not. Just compare them, they're really quite different. The eyes, for instance, are a lot smaller which makes them all look rather sad all the time for some reason. Garfield never looks like the cynical beast that he is in the strips, and Jon was almost unrecognizable here.

My test for whether a kid's movie is ok comes down to one thing - what do my kids think of it.
Well, they really enjoyed this and have watched it many times. Now, I think some aspects of it are kinda dumb and Scheky particularly annoying but it looks good, has a cute storyline and some laughs.
I agree it's not bad and I'd give it around a 6 - which is what I'm going to do right now.
