Awful

Why are so many people of the oppinion this is worth a ten vote. It's awful. Saw it with my nephews, and one wanted it turned off about 15 minutes in. The animation is sluggish, and slow, with poor lypsynch, there's long periods of nothing - and by nothing I mean nothing to even entertain a kid, yet alone an adult who's stuck watching it with them. The younger nephew was bored within seconds. It lacks pace. The whole thing could have perhaps fitted in 40 minutes.

There's even a section where a chair falls over because it's missing a leg. That's the point when the 9 year old wanted it off, as the chair fell the wrong way. If a kid of nine is making comments like that, you know something's wrong.

The two part-live action/part cgi films may not have lived up to scratch, but this is a whole load worse. I'd rather watch "garfield and friends" than this rubbish.

I am a big fan of garfield, but... nah, this was garbage. The wit is just missing.

well i thought it was good i watched with some friends we're all 20 something and we all loved it, probably cause it didn't have guts and blood and guns the things that the kids like these days doesn't mean it was bad. i gave it a 10 heck we all did. im a big fan of garfield and this movie was good.

couldn't agree with you more, abadjisp. The shear number of tens throw off the score.. aand then other users begin to vote 1 to compensate. It's a total joke to give this movie a 10, and most movies in fact. Too many people throw out tens and ones like they're candy.

I suppose it's cause of the kind of 20 year olds that sit and watch U rated films cause it's "cool", and the same kind of 20 year olds that honastly beleive toddlers like guns and guts.

I'd give it a 7. But I assume the reason people are tempted to give it a ten is because it dosn't suck nearly as bad as A Tail of Two Kitties. It feels like Garfield.

I just watched it with my boyfriend and his 8 year old son... and this is 74 minutes I'll never get back, but my 8 year old "almost step-son" loved it and that was enough for me. It was a weak plot and a weak execution of said plot, such as it was. But there were enough chuckles and watching that gorgeous little boy loving it to make it worth it.

Bottom line is... don't bother unless you're watching with a young child who will enjoy it, because that will be your highlight - seeing them laugh at it. Solo adults will turn it off after 10 minutes. Had it not been for my step-son I would not have seen this thing through.

And this from an adult who religiously watches the Thanksgiving, Halloween and Christmas specials on DVD.

I just saw it, and I thought it was okay, but I gave it a 7. I save 10s for movies like WALL-E, 9s for other really good films, and 8s for films I liked. The animation on "Garfield Gets Real" is actually quite detailed and the animators put at lot of time into it, if you can notice that.

There are so many quality childrens movies out there, brilliant stuff from Pixar, that no one in their right mind should subject poor young children to this garbage!
