UMMMM...SHIA AND MICHELLE?

Michelle was born in 76, while Shia was born in 86, so she is 10 years older than him. Did anyone find the little hint at romance at the end of the movie to be somewhat weird? I mean, I'm 20, and it's like being interested in a 10 year old...

um no its not, as you get older, the age gap doesnt mean as much.
For example you would be double the ago of a 10 year old. But now say you were 65, the women would be 55.. That is only an 18% age difference, vs a 100% age difference.

Im 25, and there are tons of very attractive 35 year olds.

When I was 22 I dated a 29 year old for a bit, and was interested in a 31 year old, but sadly it didn't work out. Also, I think Shia, in this movie, played as a bit older than his age and Monaghan played anywhere from 30 to 35.

Besides, if you were a 24 year old and had a chance with a 34 year old like Michelle Monaghan, what would you do? As for her, well, the guy's a national hero, and unlike her dead-beat ex, he's actually THERE for her. I think there's reason enough that she could fall for a younger guy like that.

It didn't ever really bother me. Not only does 10 years not seem like too much of an age difference, I got the impression that Shia was playing older...like somewhere around 25. Which makes the age difference less.

I agree. I meet so many couples where the guys are anywhere from 8 to 16 years younger than the women. Most of the time they look about the same age.

In the movie it mentioned the woman being 'mid to late 20s' and Shia LaBeouf probably around the same. I only see it as being about a 5 year age gap in the film.

although Shia and michelle plays adults with a small age gap in the movie, the fact that Michelle easily looks over 30 not to mention has a kid already, and Shia always looks like he is 16 just makes the implied romance awkward. I don't care what role you give him and how much facial hair he grows, he will always look 16!!!

i already knew the age difference but that doesn't pertain to the movies for the characters they were made to play. i don't see anything wrong or weird with age difference what matters is what's going on with them in the movie not in real life. i thought this was a good movie and they did a good job!
