I, Robot remake, with Shia yet again?

Why did Shia take this role?

Four years after I, Robot, someone decided to do a remake with one of the same actors?

I watched this to see Michelle Monaghan. Had I realized it was just a remake of a film from four years earlier, I would have skipped it entirely.

How this broke the $100m mark, I dunno...

Where do you get that from? This film is NOTHING like I, Robot. Totally different plot. Totally different idea.

I totally agree with the OP. I'm watching I, Robot now and came to this board to that they have similar storylines.

reply

There is not a SINGLE similarity between this and I, Robot. OP, i'm sorry but you're an idiot. Oh, and this is Shia's best film by far, and in the best way possible. Meaning award-worthy, if you couldn't catch that

Two films featuring Artificial Intelligence doesn't make them one of the same.

WARNING BIG SPOILERS

Don't forget there is a corrupt computer in I,Robot too, the main villain in I,Robot is a supercomputer that dispatched the robots after characters, mainly Will Smith's character. Only difference is that that computer wanted people to think Smith was paranoid and no one gathered she was the villain until the big reveal. With ARIA in EE, she was responsible for everything, the twists being that she's actually a supercomputer that kills people that don't follow her plan.

There are some similarities, especially with Shia LaBoeuf being in both films. but it's not the same other than what I mentioned in that upper paragraph.
