Perfect Family

My heart breaks for both the adoptive and bio parents in this episode. Jesse, in a way, just kind of fell in the middle kidnapping the baby. She didn't want to go along with it but at some point she kind of did. What do you think would have happened to her?

Probably charged as an accessory to kidnapping, if not the charge of kidnapping itself. There might be mitigating circumstances since Jesse was reluctant and did help the SRU locate them. The judge might show leniency, since she did after all witness the boyfriend's suicide, so she's been through enough trauma.

(I've used spoiler tags as I realise people are still watching this show for the first time on ION and Netflix USA.)

I agree with TesubCalle on what would've probably happened to Jesse. This, for me, was one of the episodes that had me absolutely bawling - probably for the fact that I knew someone very much like the biological father (my brain cannot come up with his name at the moment) who also committed suicide, just not in the same manner.

I have to say, I thought the adoptive father was, for the most part, a cocky jerk. The whole situation could have possibly been avoided had he just backed off a bit and let the bio parents have some sort of relationship with their child. I know it's their right not to, but if you truly love that baby you'd want him to have as many people that loved him around as possible. I'm not saying unsupervised visits, especially since bio dad obviously had some issues, but something; he should've been a little more sympathetic to the situation.

The adoptive dad definitely escalated the situation. They did not have to agree to anything, but he did not have to act that way. I don't think Jessie was a very willing accomplice, even Terry said he made her do it. I imagine she would probably have gotten a short sentence.

Just watched it, I was so teary eyed, especially when Terry jumped, it was devastating, but at the same time I understand why he did it. It's the first time he's held his child and also the last because even though SRU felt sympathetic towards him, he'd still have to go to jail for kidnapping for many years and even if he got out, there's no way the adoptive parents would ever let him near the child.
