You think that pulled on the heartstrings... Just wait until Episode 14 of Season 2.

I might skip it.

You could, but it really is quite the pivotal episode. Has implications for the rest of the series, in my opinion.

If you're in the US it's on ION right now! :)

If you're talking about "Coming to you Live" then yes, I totally agree with you, I felt bad for everyone involved, and I was also surprised by the twist at the end. This episode will always hold a special place in my heart for that and for the fact that it was the first episode of Flashpoint I had ever seen, this is what got me hooked into it.

I probably would be considered a crybaby lol, but lots of Flashpoint episodes got to me the first time I saw them. Season 2, Episode 9 had me bawling, and as another person mentioned, Episode 14 is a tear-jerker as well. I hope you didn't skip it; it's very good.

I don't consider myself a crybaby, yet lots of episodes had me weeping or outright bawling. And it's not even that they used cheap emotional manipulation, either. I'm savvy to those kinds of tactics. This show was very well crafted, and I'll not soon forget the emotional punch it packed.

I couldn't agree more. So different from most "cop shows" where there's the bad guy and they go after him, end of story. I think it's more realistic and human, because it shows there are plenty of gray areas. Someone who commits a crime isn't automatically rotten to the core. You, or at least I, can sympathize with many of the "criminals". I really wish they had more seasons!

reply

Part of me wishes that they had made more seasons. I really love this show, I can't really watch many of the police dramas in the US as they are way too dark and graphic. I have gotten really invested in this one. I watched it all the way to season 5 episode 11 and then started over. I am not ready to see how the ended it yet.

I'm just really pleased the producers were decent enough to tell the fans that Season 5 was going to be the last. And their reasons were valid enough that most of us were satisfied with the explanation.

Flashpoint has certainly gone down as one of my all-time favourite shows, ever, because they didn't pander to the audience and they brought it to a spectacular conclusion. Heartbreaking conclusion, yes, but it was still one of the best (if not the best) finishes to a show I've seen. You want a lesson in how to wrap things up? This show did it right.
