I just finished it the on Netflix yesturday and LOVED it. Loved how about 9/10ths of the episode is pure action but those extra minutes in the barn so much happens for character development. It's wonderful.
But back to my original question. I really want to watch it over again right now but now knowing how every outcome ends it somewhat ruins it. Maybe I won't watch it for a couple months while it isn't so much in my mind. That's just me. I had so much fun watching because I never knew what way the situations would go. Now that I do, I don't know how to watch it again with knowing.
If you're into "Fanfiction", read some or write some of your own. There are several really great stories out there.
Then I recommend binging with someone else, especially with someone who has not seen it. Usually the newbie viewer will fall in love with the show, too.
I have to catch up on some shows. But all I can think off is 40 minutes of pure but smart tactical action and how my other cop shows just are SO DULL now.
Haha. I am just going to watch it again. I think it's that good.
Haha! Sure, why not? Enjoy it again. But like I said, if you can find someone to binge-watch the second time around, it's actually better. See if moments that shocked you, outraged you, or made you weep are the same things that shock them.
Hi again! I didn't know they're was any Fan Fiction out there on this show - you've sure been helpful with all your knowledge on it, and thank you! Can you recommend some of the "good ones" you mentioned? I've never really gotten into any Fan Fiction before so I have no clue where to start (Google I know lol, but I thought I'd ask the expert if you don't mind and have the time to respond).:)
If you haven't already checked into this, it would be helpful at the start to know what sorts of stories you prefer. Humor? Drama? Angst? Team-based stories?
Do you prefer stories focused on 'x' character or 'y' pairing?
No worries! I've been in the middle of a move so I'm late reading your reply! ;)
Thanks so much for the info! I'll start with your link and go from there. I'm upset they've taken it off both ION and Netflix now; even though I know every episode up, down and sideways I just like it on even in the background when I'm doing things. So many episodes have great songs in them too that are now on my YouTube Playlist, that I never would've heard without this show, especially being in the US.
Maybe this will be a new way to get a little fix - thanks again!
Anyone know what is up with ION? Are they taking a break or are they really done airing this show? Were the ratings bad? I know they weren't when it originally aired but first it got bumped to the 1am timeslot and then it was completely gone. IMO, it was the best show they aired.
Opinions are like armpits: Most everyone has two and they usually stink. But have a great day!!!!!
I was able to watch the entire series back to back and still be thoroughly entertained. Now I'll go back and watch my favorites every now and then, but I'm giving the series a little "rest" for now so that I can watch it all again in a few months, maybe even a year. It's difficult though bc I freaking LOVE Flashpoint =D
Also, if you're a Rico fan, "Just Shoot Me" is a great comedy show with him in it
I've waited about 6 months, but I rewatch lots of my favorites. I focus on not thinking about the end, but the nuances about how you get there, and looking for clues I didn't pick up the first time, or characters who seemed tangential the first time.
Also, I have a sort of list of absolute favorites I haven't watched for awhile. Similar, copper kind of shows, most of them not USA productions.
English speaking:
Foyles War- set during and right after world war 2....exceptional for capturing the look and feel of the war years.
Midsommer Murders- just good fun, quirky characters and little villages, the earlier episodes are best
Inspector Frost- think British Colombo
Inspector George Gently- another period piece, Northern UK in the 60's
Inspector Lewis- A Masrepiece Mystery production, a follow on to Inspector Morse, much like Midsommer Murders with quirky characters, set in the lofty atmosphere of Oxford.
More if you want
Non-English:
Wallander-Swedish (there is a UK adaptation of this, but the original is better in my opinion)...I can't really think of A US equivalent. Brooding, lonely copper.
And if you don't fall in love with the female detective, I'd be surprised. Best portrayal of Asbergers (in a funny way, from one who has been diagnosed with it) I've ever seen.
They had a US series based on this, I believe, as the main female character sounds the same, and it was also called The Bridge. I fell in love with it, but unfortunately it had a very short run before it was cancelled. I'll have to try and find this original version somewhere - thanks for the tip!
Didn't bore me at all, and thank you for the list - I'll have to check these out! I love most anything British for some reason so I'm excited to have something good to add to my watch list (crossing my fingers that at least some of these are on Netflix)! I LOVE Flashpoint, but I've loved it to death lol, at least for the time being. I've seen every episode I'd say at least 10x.
I always move to another series there are soooo many on Netflix and Hulu which is how I view nowadays! Then wait awhile and go back usually by then I've forgotten all the particulars!? But I also have an illness that effects my memory too lol! If you're young and have a great memory it might not work for you! ;)
