War? No problem for pro-lifers

From George Bush on down, the so-called 'pro-life' factions vehemently condemn aborting unborn (and usually unwanted) children. But when it comes to killing Iraqis, Afghans or any other nationals that get in the way of the USA, they have no problems. These people are almost invariably fundamentalist Christians, and they're pro-war all the way. For them, killing is selective. It's okay to kill adults (including thousands of American male and female soldiers), but aborting a fetus -- a tortuous and terrifying decision usually made in desperation by a woman -- is the greatest of all sins.

Abortion is an extremely difficult issue, but these people make it one-dimensional. If only life were that simple.

They reduced an incredibly complex issue to graphic billboards meant to illicit an emotional response.
