Disney has too many problems right now to be messing around with a guaranteed to under perform Alien film. Sadly I don't see it happening. Not unless they're that desperate to flesh out their streaming catalog with fresh content. And maybe they are, who knows.

Can we safely say this will be a flop as well? A modest flop that is.

It's a shame Disney bought out Fox. All of those good franchises will just sit on the shelf or just get another crappy reboot with 'woke' elements.

Maybe Disney could sell some of these franchises to gain capital. They're billions of dollars in debt right now, so they should sell them to someone who will do something with it.

Looks like they'll reboot it and I have no doubt it's going to be uber woke to the 10th degree.
I think peeps need to start boycotting disney, if they haven't started already.

sounds lame - like The Thing prequel (MEW) meets Alien Resurrection/Covenant (taming a xeno/colonists) meets T2 (monster turns good)

Leaked plot

"According to the leak, the story centers on a diverse group of colonists trying to find a planet on which they can establish independence from right wing governments and evil corporations. They chance upon one that appears hospitable and seems to be free of life, but it won’t surprise you that this isn’t strictly true.
The hero will be a “Mary Sue type” named Fiona, a science officer that begins to realize there’s more to her new home than meets the eye. Cue the eggs, the Facehuggers, running and the screaming and incompetent or goofy males. But there’s a twist, as Fiona manages to successfully grow an alien in her laboratory and train it not to kill her. This ‘friendly’ Xenomorph will then be sent out into battle to defend the evil white colonists, that are trying to build a huge 'space wall', eventually dying while killing its nemesis. The script apparently ends on a sequel hook, with eggs aboard Fiona’s ship as she leaves the planet."
