Worst shower sceen ever!!!

I'm ok with this being a slasher first and foremost but whats with the girl taking a shower in her clothes? Just plane wrong.

The Thais have rather puritanical views of nudism -- despite the gore and sexiness of the Sick Nurses, we can't see "too" much skin, no nipples, and of course no public hair! It's a cultural thing.

You've got to be kidding. The Thais having problem with nudity? With Bangkok being the sex capital of Asia?

reply

Thai people contradict themselves.

I think they draw a line between public morality -- movies being public -- and private, with anything done for money (whether it's between consenting adults or an adult and a child or an adult, a child, and a vinyl blowup doll of Flipper) considered private and therefore nobody's business but those involved.

Excuse me but have any of you fools been to Thailand before making your crass stereotype comments? I've lived in Asia for over 10 years, am married to a Thai lady, (who I met in an office environment before you sickos start more crass assumptions), have two kids and believe the country to have more morals than the Americas or Europe. Go to Hong Kong, Jakarta or Manila if you want to compare "asian sex capitals", Bangkok is tame and I've never seen a Thai consentor accept any form of child (or inflatable dolphin abuse). Hey I forgot only Asians are morally bankrupt, after all I've lived in Vegas, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Prague and Stockholm, to name a few, and they are puritan, if you ignore all of the whores, druggies and gangsters.

Yes there is a sex "industry" in Thailand (as there is in every other capital city, but the girls here literally do it to support their family as they has no other way of making a living and the Farang are happy to pay for the company of someone who is so attractive that they'd never get a hello from the equivelant person "back home".

Take your assumptions and put them where you probably hid Flipper!

Fools.

As someone who has lived in Asia for nearly 5 years, and spent a lot of time in Thailand I can understand what FLAME REPELLANT is saying, but I think hes being a bit soft on the Thais. Asians generally support their elderly parents, and of course their kids, but they certainly have other options other than the sex industry. Most of the people in the sex industry are nowhere near that desperate. A great deal of the younger sex workers are university students who are looking for pocket money and excitement above anything else. I know this because I have thai friends (i was not their customer) who have explained the situation to me.

Thais are extremely proud that they were never colonized or ruled by outside powers, unlike their East Asian neighbors. As a result, their culture (including the way they deal with sex) is incredibly unique. Most people who go to Thai prostitutes are THAI, not Farang. Thailand even has a law that states you cannot divorce your husband because he has sex with someone else. Situations like this are hard for people with judeo-christian values to understand and this movie confused the hell out of me, but it was hilarious. The tranny twist was beautiful and very Thai! Watch it if you enjoy being bewildered.

Damn you and your logic for the lack of nudity

Worst? I was so happy that she didn't go nude. I just thought "Oh thank god, finally a horror movie that doesn't include full frontal nudity to gain attention!"

I get it up, I get it up in the dark, I make her feel I'm not a holy man

reply

I dont mind we didnt gtet to see her naked, but it WAS stupid to have her take a shower FULLY CLOTHED Surely they could have just framed the shot so it looked like she was naked in the shower but we couldnt see anything

I agree. They just should have filmed her from the neck up instead of making her fully clothed.

She had severe issues with her image... she clearly over exercised ..she had anorexia , people who are severely affected by this illness do not appreciate to look at their own body... are you all blind???????????

interesting analisys' about thais views toward sex, prostitution, body image, etc. what I dont get is the over-sensitiveness and anger in some of the answers. different cultures have their differences, nothing wrong with noticing it or talking about it.

Oh, I dunno, maybe it would have been better if she showered in her nurse outfit. ;-)
Come on, there was so much WTF in this movie I'm surprised this bit of bizarreness even made a blip on the meter.

Oh, to look at it another way - Thai nurse in a horror film showers with her clothes on, "oh my God"; Colin Firth gets out of a pond with his clothes on, "instant sex symbol (and parodied for ages)".
