Visually Stunning

I love what Jamie Oliver is doing for improving what people in this country eat. But even beyond that, this particular series is the most soul-satisfying food program I've ever watched. It's visually beautiful, from the wonderful graphics to the food to the settings that he cooks in around his home.

Whether he's in his garden picking ingredients for his next dish, which he prepares sitting on a stump next to a small grill perched on some rocks on the ground with little flames flaring picturesquely up, or he's in what looks like a cross between a nearby rustic cabin and grandma's old-fashioned pantry, there's always something simple, natural, and beautiful to look at. And there's never any sign of cold, hard technology or time pressure to intrude on the sense of just puttering around in a relaxed way, close to nature, indulging in a little easy, casual, culinary creativity, while sun-dappled leaves sway overhead and birds sing gently in the background. I mean, what more could you want? And the food is great too -- fresh, simple, and artfully put together. There's just no doubt that it's delicious. Every episode is like a small vacation to me.

I really love this show. More power to you, Jamie.
