USA?

does anyone know if this is going to be released in the United States as well?

reply

it doesn't even have a UK release. My guess would be that it won't make it to the US. particularly not in cinemas.

It's going to be screened in Utah - the question is really whether it'll get a release over here.

So does anybody know how the premiere went?
It looked like it would have been one of the more popular films at Slamdance, but of course, that doesn't necessarily mean anything about the quality of the picture...

I think all we can do is hope that it did well, and if it did, maybe there will be a slightly better chance of us being able to see it in our respective countries (I'm in Australia). I'm afraid that the chances of the film being released overseas would already be quite slim seeing as it's classified as a short film... :(

Otherwise, we can always just hope for a dvd release! :D Although I would get quite a thrill from watching Robert Pattinson on the big screen... haha XD

Thank you for that!
Sounds like it did well, and hopefully what the journalist predicted will happen...

Yay! :D

reply

Mm-hmm, sounds like they liked it!

I hope I can find some kind of news on a release soon though ... I mean I should have a good chance of finding it SOMEWHERE, on TV or DVD, because I live in Britain ... Hrnn, will it even go anywhere NEAR a cinema? -_-;

Well, I think the original premiere date was going to be the 12th of July 2008 (my 17th birthday! :D) so... I think that's the day to watch out for.
And yeah, I guess you would have a pretty good chance of seeing it if you're in Britain... lucky :( But reviews are saying that this film will go far, so hopefully it will at least get released at independent cinemas :D -crosses fingers-

reply

Oh, thanks! ^_^ I'll keep an eye out then. As soon as I can get even a peek at it I'm dragging my friend with me to see it XD

On a whim, I emailed the producer that's listed on the official website. I didn't expect to hear back, but he did respond. He says that they have to find distributors and all that jazz, so it won't be released until after July. At least, this is how it stands at the moment. Unfortunate, yes, but what can you do?

Well, from reviews it looks like it shouldn't really have problems finding distributors... well, hopefully anyway.
But I really do hope it comes out here in Australia!

Thanks for letting us know, too :)

WO HOO!

So wait, I'm a little confused. Is it or is it not going to be released in the United States? I sure hope they do, because I really want to see it.

And so the lion fell in love with the lamb. What a stupid lamb. What a sick, masochistic lion.

Well, the How To Be guys right now are just trying to get into film festival screenings, but are also securing general distribution deals and hopefully a dvd release.
They're trying to do this internationally :)

For more info you can go to http://www.howtobemovie.com , the official website, where there's also a link to the emailing list and their Facebook group, both at which you can receive updates about screenings!

Hope that helps :)

I really want to see this, the trailer looked hilarious. So I hope I can find it somewhere here in the U.S.
