Don't think Art as a child says anything, but if you mean the bit at the beginning where Art if talking about his childhood he says something like:

"I just never got anyting they were trying to do for me. All they were trying to do in general. Once my father made me collect up all my toys, my macho toys from my bedroom, he took me downstairs and made me burn them all in the garden. Yeah, I mean he must have bought the stuff for me anyway as I was only about 6. I mean I just didn't get it, every day constant contradictions".

I just wanted someone to comfort me, you know, to ease my anxiety

During the scene where adult Art is crying and kicking the tree, young Art does speak in a flashback where his mother is putting him to bed. He asks her something about what happens after we die, but I can't quite make it out. However, he appears to be unhappy with her affirmative answer because he whimpers a little bit in reaction to her response. (I'm sure it was something cold and disheartening. Poor bb Art.)
