Is the mom supposed to be American?

Did I miss that? Was she supposed to be American? Or is she just incredibly bad and/or lazy at an English accent? It stuck out like a sore thumb.

Ha. She is American, yet one of the worst American accents ever. She is the worst actress ever. She is married to David Mamet -- I'm sure that's the ONLY reason she gets parts. She uses that same horrible way of speaking in every movie she's done. If she wasn't married to a famous playwright/screenwriter I'm sure she would never have gotten a single role. She is god awful.
