Pattison is lucky

He's lucky he plays a decent vampire, because I just want to hit his character in this movie. It makes sense that he picks out a "It's Not Your Fault" self-help book because he's such a self-absorbed douchebag.
The actress that plays the mother overacts almost every line she has and the therapist creeps me out.

The last 10minutes was not worth the 1hr and 10min that I had to sit through in order to get the pay off. After sitting through all his whining, I just don't care when he turns his life around.

Don't you think this movie can tell us not to fall for somthing past?

The message is so long in coming that it utterly fails. His self-absorbed whining consumes so much of the movie's run-time that the turn around at the end is unrealistic and boring.

If this movie says anything about living in the past, it's in a very "Meet Frank" educational film sort of way. (i.e. Someone narrating over a silent film to illustrate a message. "Meet Frank. Frank wants a candy bar but has no money. Frank steals candy bar. Officer Joe catches Frank. Now Frank is sad. Frank has learned that the best way to get what you want and not be sad is through hard work. Pause film to Discuss.") In that sense, this was a very poorly thought out movie.

Couldn't agree more. I love most British films, and the premise sounded interestng.

I hate to give up on a film, it's on now in the states on the Sundance Channel, and it's not very good.
