I read the book like 5 years ago, and I have to admit, when I saw the preview, I was kinda disappointed. I just pictured everyone differently. But, thats hollywood for ya.

I LOVE this movie so far. I have never read the book, never knew there was one. The movie is wonderful so far. It reminds me of my late aunt from Maryland & growing up.. I almost want to cry.

Considering I pictured Hollis as african-american from the cover of the book, some of the charcters arn't looking right. I think Bee looks like I pictured her though. And I pictured Steven as older, taller, and lankier. But oh well.

I read the book last year. Everyone looked alright I guess, except Izzy, who I thought should have black hair... and be not so skinny. And Steven should have been dorkier and have like, glasses or something. =/

I read an article that stated the ending in the movie was a bit different from the book. Can anyone who has read the book tell me what was changed?

ye ai pictured hollis different and steven but i think they hit it right on with josey and beatrice

reply

Not a big change, just in the way Steven finds Hollis and Josie (in the book, he's on a snowmobile, not a bicycle.) The impact is the same. And showing that Steven figured it out, and believed in Hollis enough to let her make her own decisions, that was the same.

Another difference is that in the book it ended with Izzy having a baby girl and hollis got a sister.
