Not the ultimate Nelson Mandela movie

Nelson Mandela is well-known for hating this movie, personally overall as a work of art I found this picture entertaining, but I don't think it's even made to be the ultimate Nelson Mandela biopic... As much as I like him as an actor I couldn't believe they didn't find anybody better than Morgan Freeman to portray Nelson Mandela, obviously they choose/wanted someone bankable instead of taking the "right" person... Also the scenario concentrate on the few months of the world cup, they left out lots of details of Nelson Mandela's life...

Read the trivia, Mandela wanted Freeman to play him.

He's not well known for hating this movie at all... Where are you getting that information? As far as I know he loved it, helped with production and met with some of the cast.

If he had any negative feelings about this or any other well produced film about himself, I strongly douubt if Nelson Mandela would have ever made such statements publically known. We're talking about an absolutely extraordinary human being, who was not ruled by any such mindless ego comments ....
