What the hell is this?

Really, is THIS supposed to be something new in the way of children's entertainment? All it is is a bunch of cats getting salt in their eyes and falling down, least that's what they put in the commercials and everybody knows you've got to put the BEST of the show in commercials to get people interested. What the hell is wrong with people? Have their IQs dropped so low that they think anything that can sell is good? Where are the Walt Disneys of today? People today could stand to learn from history. That's what I say, look forward, move forward, but don't forget your roots, don't forget where something started and what made it and what made you in where you are.

That's what I say, learn from the classics, the geniuses, the originals, Walt Disney, Tex Avery, Chuck Jones, Max Fleischer, Seymour Kneitel, Charles Schultz, Jim Davis, Jim and Brian Henson, Izzy Sparber, Frank Oz, Bill Cosby, David Detiege, Sam Cornell, Gerard Baldwin, Frank Baxton, Bill Melendez, Bob Hope, the Marx Brothers, Lucille Ball, Mel Blanc, C.W. Fields, the 3 Stooges, Abbott and Costello, Fatty Arbuckle, Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, Charlie Chaplin, Mack Sennett, Gracie Allen and George Burns, Red Skelton, Joe Barbara, William Hanna, Charles Nichols, Kent Zbornak, Arthur Davis, Ken Spears, Joe Ruby, Michael Jacobs, Bob Young, Kevin Clash, Dick Van Dyke, Julie Andrews, Fred MacMurray, Robert Stevenson...people really ought to pay attention and LEARN from history before they take 1 step forward and 2 back in making new films for the future.

its not on disney and i dont think its a kids show beacuse what kid watches abc family

reply

I'm aware it isn't on Disney, I was using Walt Disney as an example, now HE knew how to make great cartoons, and they were stuff that EVERYBODY could watch and enjoy, not just kids.

And, with a name like ABC FAMILY, people are going to think 'it's a family channel, what could they put on there that's bad?' When the fact of the matter is that this single digit IQ crap they call entertainment of today is what's getting put on at every chance. And a lot of people, excluding the work of Adult Swim, they think 'cartoons, those are good for kids, they don't put anything bad in them'. And this show is coming on at 9 o' clock at night, just HOW many kids do you know who aren't awake at 9? I don't know any.

Have you seen the entire show's run? No? Then get the sand out of your vag and learn to give new things a shot.

Hell, the only good show ABC Fam has anymore is 'Whose Line?' reruns... everything else is pretty much crap. This show looks like it could be genuinely humourous and shows some development and gives the older, more crude crowd i.e.) teens and adults something.

Seriously, kids who havent heard of all the stuff to be discussed on this show (sex, drinking, etc...) do not watch ABC Family. I know when I was 10-11 years old I had long discovered shows like The Simpsons and South Park, not to mention porn and watching rated R movies.

Point and case: Quit b*tching, this kind of show is exactly what the otherwise very sub-par ABC Family needs, its something new, give it a chance... it may suck, it may not, we'll see.

reply

Just cuz kids may know about that stuff by that time, it don't mean they gotta see it. Kids know about cigarettes, you let your 5 year olds light up? Kids know about drinking, you pour shots of vodka for your kid? Hey, they know about sex at 10, you letting them watch you while you do it?

5 will get you 10 this show is going to suck canal water and will be lucky if it gets past 5 episodes. Now I'm all for trying new things, but when you put right up front that this show is crap and you have to have the IQ of a raisin to enjoy it, what's the point?

reply

Your just pulling stuff out of your a$$, theres a big difference between watching animated cats on tv do it and doing it in real life. Obviously I wouldnt let my kids light up or do shots, but thats a matter of bad parenting not watching a cartoon.

Theres a lot of things we "dont gotta see", but its all around us, especially in this day and age.

I think you're crazy. I knew a 9 year old that went to bed at 7. And besides, I was mature enough to handle R ratings. It's a matter of maturity, not age. When I was 10 - up to now, while I wouldn't like shows like this all that much (I've always hated those retarded "kid" shows - how can anyone be entertained by those?) I would love shows like ABC family has, dramas such as Kyle XY and Greek, Full House, Grounded for Life, 8 Simple Rules, etc.

Emily: Have you lost your mind?
Lorelai: Nope, it's still sloshing around in there.

reply

since the show is on at 10, and since the channel DOES have family hours, what the hell is the problem? They will play it when young kids will least likely see it at 10 pm. What 5 year old is staying up past 10pm? It's being played after family hours so shut it. Come back and complain when they play this show at 3 in the afternoon.

Then that only proves that those people are idiots and shouldn't be parents

reply

That may be, but it doesn't change the fact that because of it all, kids ARE going to be seeing this crap.

reply

give me the ages in which you would define "kids" that will see this? For ex. ages 13-17

reply

Try anybody who's bedtime surpasses 9 o' clock, and the way a lot of parents are, that's a hell of a lot.

reply

Ok well tell me the ages of kids you think it's a problem for.

ABC Family puts TV14 LV right when the show starts and it's at 9/10 pm. They're not responsible if a parent lets their 8 year old watch the show because firstly it's not playing when kids will most likely see it, it's playing after family hours and they clearly put what the age should be for watching it.

You can't blame the network for the responsibility of parents.

This is way more suited for Adult Swim
