McKensie's Managment Concern

did you guys read shannon's blog? She said that she hasn't worked with Marki yet and that Marki doesn't normally work with kids. if this show has been taped since august 07, why haven't they been working to get Mckensie work? I hope the contract they signed isn't going to hurt her. Shannon did say that they have turned down some jobs due to the contract they signed.

Well, they couldn't get her too much work cause it would have been obvious who the winner was.

I'm starting to really dislike a lot of things connected with this show. If Markie doesn't work with kids, what in the heck is she doing on this show? Also, since Mackenzie was signed, why isn't her agency finding her something? I think it stinks that they have had to actually turn down work b/c of a contract that isn't doing anything for her. Dang, I hope this doesn't sour Mackenzie on acting...she really does have potential.

I love you...but not like that.

Helene, It really doesn't matter, does it? Mackenzie will naturally have offers since she WON the competition!

Below is a portion of Shannon's blog...you might want to read the entire blog...you could learn a thing or two about parenting a performer. I really hope you will stop pushing Cheyenne so hard---she deserves better!

Since McKenzie won, she’s been restricted on what she can do professionally. This show was to be her coming-out, so to speak. Whenever she was asked to do certain things, people did not know that she had won. She was asked to sing the national anthem at the College Liberty Bowl on ESPN. She was asked to be a featured entertainer at the St. Jude’s Gala in Memphis, Tennessee. But she was able to perform in a lot of local shows. I’ve been keeping her away from any acting around here, because in theater, everything is dramatic and over-the-top, and, as everyone knows, acting is reacting. She’s naturally very dramatic and over-the-top — let’s not add fuel to the fire."

The thing is, even on American Idol I remember reading that it's a worse deal for the kids on there than not. You are bound by contract that you will not do anything independant of the show or anythign related to the show, maybe this is another case of that. Mckenzie IS talented, but it really would not surprise me if winning this show will hold her back more than breaking her out, because that's how big business sadly tends to work. I hope that does not happen, she worked so hard.

Let's see... VH1 and Danny Bonaduche will propel a kid's career to stardom?

On that note, when does "Who Wants To Be A Superhero?" start back up?

Well Shannon posted a follow up on h er b log saying Mckenzie and her were busy doing radio shows and talk shows. last thing I heard about Mckenzie after that is she was to sing in a concert. some other poster on that blog posted that info.
