Film might have lasted 10 minutes...

....if Paddy had simply said to Pryce at the beginning, "Well, sir, AA is the way I deal with my problem. Might not be for everyone, but please respect my life choice. If yer not an addict, good for you. I'm glad you enjoy my poetry. NOW, the reason we're here, the interview: what's yer favorite color?" Interview gets done, Pryce hires Paddy to write, things get better, happily ever after. The end.
In this film, Pryce's character being so nosy & arrogant, plus Paddy's reaction, did not seem plausible. After Uma appeared, I imagined the remainder of the film's script in my head & then stopped watching.
I feel that it's lazy to write a story about a story writer, having difficulty writing a story. The only time that worked was in Adaptation, a very good film.
