What an insult this film title is. With that title, one would expect either a./ a camp with Rock stars rocking out and killing small animals to eat, or b./ an exploration into the androgony and sexuality explored in the genre of Glam Rock/Metal.

NOT some *beep* Disney film with Jonas etc in!!

Get back to signing actual rock bands, Hollywood Records, like you did in the 90's.

Get back to creating stunning animation classics, Disney.

Get back to the store and get a refund if you bought the DVD, public.

actually I think the title sums this POS up rather well, Camp Rock...Very Very Camp, so camp it's George Michael!

It's funny because I read up on the stars and they say they're into all these different types of metal bands and stuff but yet they prance around singing government approved happy slappy song time music.

If you're gonna play metal, f-cking play, don't be all gay about it.

I don't know something about killing small animals cuz that to me aint very entertaining (not that I don't like ozzy osbourne or anything related) but if anything the problem is that this film is pop, not rock, not even pop/rock, they don't even try to break things around like the who, or anything, total *beep* is what this is

You do realize you are confusing Rock w/ Heavy Metal
So lets assume my version of Rock would be that of The Beatles music ~ then you are so true that this movie didn't go there

Rock, basically, covers a lot of music because rock essentially is a band consisting of 3 or more members, which comprises of a vocalist, a drummer and a lead guitarist.

You saying this isn't a rock film just because you like heavy metal is naive and stupid, and demonstrates how narrow your knowledge of music actually is.

Either way, there is no rock in the movie. Every song consists of pop or hip-hop synthesizers or something similar. They should have titled it "Camp Pop", not "Camp Rock".

I have El Sonoma del Torra de Fiero Syndrome. Be happy you don't. Trust me.

Yeah, it's a misnomer. Pretty common in our culture... I don't get why people take it so seriously.
Camp Rock does have a better ring to it than Camp Pop.

I TOTALLY AGREE! I was reading through this thread and the OP and others are taking it too seriously!!! Camp Rock is a camp for inspiring musicians/dancers etc it isn't about actual ROCK music itself! It DOES have a better ring to it than Camp Pop LOL!

There is more to it than that - I posted this on another thread as well.

Original Definition of Rock: First off it is actually Rock & Roll but that has changed over the years. Now there is Hard Rock, Metal Rock, Classic Rock and Southern Rock etc.

Definition: A style of popular music that derives in part from blues and folk music and is marked by a heavily accented beat and a simple, repetitive phrase structure.

Pop music ='s Popular Music. It's an abbreviation. So therefore they can have other styles of Rock including Pop if they go by the original definition.

Rock Bands decided to claim the name ROCK and insinuate that it is the only true Hard Music. Which is really not true. Personally I prefer Rock music to Pop but being into music I do like a little of everything.
