What should be the next TF series after Animated?

I guess with the sucess of the live movies they could do an animated version of it, wouldn't be a bad idea as it could rlly extend it's universe further.

That's the only idea I have so far.

Transformers: Animated II. Simple as that.

It would be good to have the same writing team returning after ROTF is done with. The art-style can remain the same, or they can go back to more realistic drawings, CGI, what do I care, but I would not want the quality of writing to sink back to the level of G1 or the anime shows.

reply

they can do anything that they want so long as it is not a sequal to this POS show. heck i will even take the old FOX show Robots in Disguise over this POS, and that was at one time, IMO, the worst TF series ever made.

i think that they could do something similar to what was done with Ben 10 Alien Force, where the next TF series takes place a few years after TFA. Though Sari would be nearly adult age if they did that. they would probably end up creating a new human ally of the AutobotsIT'S TROLL HUNTING SEASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

reply

That, with Optimus finally as the Autobot leader, of course.

that too. IT'S TROLL HUNTING SEASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I say go back to the original and update the characters and story for the modern day audiance, just like they did with the He-Man series back in 2002.

i remember watching that He-Man cartoon. That would be a interesting idea. i really wonder what the next TF cartoon is going to be. I'm not crazy! The voices in my head told me I'm perfectly normal!!!

Why not a prequal to G1? Have Optimus Prime be a rookie again, and Sentinel Prime as the leader. Maybe keep it on Cyberton.

reply

i would rather if they dropped the entire concept for animated out the window and into, IMO, where it belongs, the garbage masher. but i do think that the idea of a prequal for G1 would be an interesting premess. Go back to the start of the war, and see how Optimus Prime became the great leader that he is in G1.

Maybe they could do the prequel idea and continue it onwards from Wardawn.

I'd like to see G1/Beast Wars continue with the Transtech concept.

That was my thoughts exactly. They would be able to bring back clasic transformers the way that they were ment to be used, but still have the freedom to do whatever they wanted with the characters in the name of character development.

Another idea would b to actually try and go into the lost 20 years between seasons 2 and 3. I would have loved to have seen the arrival of Ultra Magnus, Kup, Arcee, Hotrod, and the other new bots in season 3. Not to mention how they designed and built Metroplex, and maybe even see that TF/GI Joe crossover that we all wanted to see, and was hinted at in a few Season 3 Episodes.

They couldn't do a "Transformers: The Movie: The Series" because that's what Animated basically is (or was through the first season). Earth-trapped Autobots protecting a life-giving box called "the allspark" as Decepticons search for it as well as their incapacitated leader Megatron? Sounds familiar.

As the trends have gone, I wager a seriously-retooled pitch and a pickup a couple of years later. That seems to be the trend.

I really wouldn't mind another series of Animated, but on the chance that doesn't happen, I'd kinda like to see them try and maybe produce a few direct-to-DVD movies based on certain Transformers stories (like War Within or Hearts Of Steel or even based on the live-action movies).
Or for an entire series, they could keep some of the elements from Animated (i.e. practical alt modes, well-rounded characters without an overcrowded cast etc.) and attempt to inroduce them to a newer, different series.

I would live to see a transformers:universe style toon. Classic characters, redone, in a more serious way than Animated (though i dug animated). I would like to see something more in the style of the IDW comics. More geared for older audiences. With a tone along the lines of the Batman animated series, or JLA.

From Hasbro at BotCon: "New cartoon series will be of Animated's quality."

Sound promising, right off the bat. Lets see how it turns out...

mother&#%@, just what we didn't need anouther $#*&en animated.

I, for one, am glad to hear this; so much care and thought hasn't been given to any Transformers cartoon for years, and, although they may still screw it up, it's nice to know they are trying to make a point of using the formula again. Hopefully, we'll have another fan-favorite show and the cycle of "a good series followed by a handful of lesser ones" will not repeat itself.

The quality of the animation, in my opinion, is what they could totally improve upon, however. Not necessary the designs, but the animation itself.

Among other things, that is number one on the list of things that they need to improve on.

also Legend, in most cases, you can't do TF with out some sort of mention of Unicron. I mean, they even included him in a few episodes of Beast Wars. In fact they have mentioned Unicron in one way or another in every TF series since G1, except for Robots in Desguis and Beast Machines. So I wouldn't be at all surprised if they do include Unicron in some manner in the story line.

I may be mistaken, but didn't one of the Maximals reference Unicron upon seeing Megatron's giant floating head?

Yep. It was Rattrap.

ok, then i stand corrected, but the point was that he wasn't seen in those series. (technically he wasn't seen in Cybertron either, but they mentioned him enough times to, IMO, counter that little fact)
