Remake... right?

Is this a remake of a movie on Lifetime? I barely made it through this movie (and am a little tired of katherine being the same character in all her movies, but I suppose you gotta do what you can do) and then a movie came on the Lifetime channel which looked exactly the same but worse. It's date was from before this, so I was wondering if this was a remake... and why remake that bad movie?? Raising Waylon is what it was called.
