Why the Brits surpass us

I really enjoyed this today. Even paid 3.99 to watch it on cable. I thought the chemistry between Heigl and Deshamel was great and I got a kick out of the cast of characters. Where I felt it fell short was in length. Why do we continuously have to plump up our flicks with sophomoric and slap sticky crap? You won't find that in movies from Britain such as Notting Hill, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Love Actually, etc. yet put Hugh Grant vs. Sandra Bullock in an American film (Two Weeks Notice) and we have to put the Oh my God I have to poop right now so the script calls for Bullock to totally reduce her character to toilet humor. Oh well.

I'm not referring to the baby's pooping. I'm referring to the overuse of the gal from the CPA. She wasn't necessary. I would have preferred the ending portraying a years later view of them married, with their own kids watching Sophie graduate or something to that affect. I guess it was being set up for sequels.
