Bob Mortimer's childhood story...

...was the funniest thing I've seen on TV in years.

"He had a big head. The kids called him 'sniper's dream'".

Christ, I could barely breathe, through laughter.

Was this the same story as "We do beg your pardon - we are in your garden"? I forget. That was hilarious!

I remember a story that Bob had on a previous show about a cupboard lion or something when he was in sixth form. TOO funny :)

It was the 'hand lion' that the teacher kept in the cupboard which could either lick or scratch you.

Bob Mortimer is brilliant on this show. His stories are gold. Only problem is they are always true!

reply

I think the fact that it's always true makes it funnier. You sit there thinking; "Okay, this time it HAS to be a lie", then it isn't.

A couple of Rhod Gilbert's stories have been like that. I thought the one about selling his car for Tapas had to be a lie.

How about his digging up his dead hamster, washing it, and then reburying it?

Or spending two weeks on holiday in France in somebody's garage?

Not being from the UK only recently have I discovered Bob Mortimer. His humour and stories are classic.
