Why can't they just release the FULL SERIES on DVD?

Do far, we've only got 2 movies which are a couple of episodes cobbled together.
Why not release the full series like the original Speed racer?
Also can anyone tell me if the movie DVDs are multi-region or Region 1 only?
The original Speed Racer DVDs say Region 1, but they are in fact Multi-region.
