i havent seen it (as i dont live in britain) but i was really kind of surprised when i heard the bbc was producing it. isnt it a bit raunchy for the bbc? or was this adaptation cleaned up?
maybe its cause im american, but when i think of raunchy sex stuff i think of HBO, SHOWTIME and occasionally FX. but the bbc?

okay well have you seen like "ROME" or "THE TUDORS" those sex scenes just seem really graphic to me. can the BBC show something that graphic?
and when you said "technically, it was much more sexually explicit than anything BBC had done before..." am i right to assume that the BBC kind of has restrictions on what they can and cant show, i guess like censhorship or whatever?

Yes the bbc can show sex scenes, provided that it meets the guidelines and is shown well after the 9pm watershed.
