reply

ohh sorry man i didnt see your post until today, but theyre gone now. they left on tuesday july 31. but it was pretty cool they did a snow scene and stuff.

reply

Awesome. Must be neat having a shoot there. How long do they shoot for? I can imagine for a long time.

reply

Thank you so much for that. Do you know where they are now? If you have any info, please post. I'm planning a trip to Toronto to go see Lauren.

reply

i just saw them filming a rain scene yesterday in downtown toronto!!!!
it was kind of an old scene with old retro cars and everything. it was pretty coooll. we met the director and the guy. so yeah!

reply

Wow, whereabouts downtown? They could have waited, I think it's suppose to rain for real soon. :) LOL!

reply

okay today they're on my street, deepwood, and these mo-fo's think they own the joint and have taken over our street. i hate these north hollywood bastards.

reply

They always do that. ;) It's the magic of filmmaking. Did they tell you how long they were going to interrupt your street for?

reply

they're here for the evening til 5am, but took the whole day to set up. but yeah they're just rude and think they can just block off the street at will for what looks to be a stinker of a film anyway.... they were standing on my lawn and other ppls lawns and continue to walk on other ppls properties, boo to the establishment, i want a slice of the profits for this disturbance.

reply

Ya, they were in the Don Mills area on Friday, told us to get out of the way.

They were bringing in old cars and stuff.

reply

Hi gman8,

No one ever told you to "get out of the way" when we were filming on The East Donway last year for Flash of Genius".

If anyone had that authority, it would have been a police officer. If the police officer told you to "get out of the way", it would have been for your safety. Obviously you listened because you must have seen the cars moving quickly on the road and, standing on or crossing it, thought it would have been a good idea at the time to move or get hit. I would have done the same.

Other than that, I did not instruct any of our crew to tell anyone to "get out of the way". However, if it were a crew member and it wasn't miscommunication, please describe the location and the person you spoke to and I will try to get to the bottom of the issue even after the fact, for it makes us all look unprofessional.

In the meantime, please don't spread negativity where it is not warranted.

Thank you.

their filming a scene for this movie a few blocks from my house in Hamilton. i was on my way home just now when they stopped traffic. i saw some older cars and i think was a stingray corvette which was pretty cool. i found out the name of the movie and decided to come on this site to check it out.

j2armstr,

Regarding filming on Deepwood last summer: I'm truly sorry that we gave you the impression that we were "taking over your street". As you are a film fan, I'm sure you appreciate and understand how much effort goes into filming scenes. We needed to close down a portion of Deepwood (which is a beautiful street, by the way) for public and crew safety, not to mention the period look we were trying to achieve.

Ninety-nine percent of our crew live and work in Toronto. Our industry relies heavily upon our ability to film on-location to perpetuate our livelihoods and contribute to the Ontario economy. Like you, we are just doing our jobs. We did it as quickly and efficiently as possible and it was only for one night. We had nothing but praise from every resident that came forward and not one complaint.

Again, I am truly sorry that it was not a good experience for you. Perhaps, if there is another occasion, you may contact us in advance so we can help facilitate your concerns. We really appreciated the hospitality displayed by the other residents of the street and truly apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

They were filming on Church street between Gerrard and College on Friday, August 31. When I was coming into work there were trailors and film equipment set up all down college and church.

reply

they were filming at the university of toronto. i was a background extra. i got to sit in a class room as greg kinnear taught the class

reply

So it was at the university, I was on vacation in Toronto and got lost looking for the ROM, we ended up at the university and saw all these film crews. I was really interested and wanted to stop, but we didn't have time. I would've skipped the ROM if I could've been an extra... dammit

reply

Hi there!
Please, have you already seen Dermot Mulroney there? I don't know if he's already started his participation.
Thanks
Isa

reply

I was on set on Wednesday and I seem to remember seeing on the call sheet that he was flying in that night. I don't know when he was starting to shoot though.

reply

Thanks 4444 for the info.

reply

saw them on chesnut street right outside of my hotel mon the 20th all day not sure if they will be there longer or not...

reply

Hey! Which college were they filming at?

And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.

reply

They are filming on the westmall, near westmall and the queensway today (August 22). If you know where the the Dominion warehouse is on the westmall between the queensway and Dundas, thats where they were filming today

reply

Hi acm1008, Who was there? Everybody?, Lauren, Greg, Dermot, and cia?

reply

The crew said Lauren Graham was there but I didnt see her. I work just down the street so I was talking to some of the crew during my lunch break

reply

Where are they filming this week?

reply

they were filming at Sherbourne and Wellesley on Tuesday. The TTC was stuck in traffic and everyone was talking about all the old style cars lined up and a big yellow car with a camera was there with Greg and Lauren sitting in the front. After that everyone was talking about Greg Kinear.

reply

I just saw greg and lauren tonight. They are filming in the gay village here in Toronto. It's a funny location cause its right next to Woody's (the gay bar they used to film Queer as Folk in) and a leather bar. There is an italian restaurant that I always thought looked out of place in the gay village, too straight. They are filming in there tonight and probably for the next couple of days.

reply

I was in the village tonight and saw Greg Kinear and Alan Alda(of MASH Fame), go into an ice cream parlour. A friend of mine asked Alan Alda for his autograph and was met with a cold stare and a "i'm sorry but I dont do autographs". He was then pushed away by one of the entourage and rudely asked to move along. My freind was very polite and soft spoken throughout the whole thing. I find it hard to beleive that Alan would act like this towards a fan. I have done some background work on this film and it seems like most of the cast are pretty anal and stuck up. NOT the most pleasent experience I have had orking on a motion picture.

reply

My friend got Greg Kinnear autograph on another set location.

reply

umm so they are def filming at the end of my street
right near Church and Carleton

reply

Hi
they are done filming there as of august 31
I met the greg. real nice. lauren not as nice but pleasant at times
dermot was nice enough to say hello and let me take a picture

reply

so i guess Detroit loses out again,, even a film about the auto industry and they go elsewhere.
