Who voiced the Encyclopod?

I can't work it out.

Really? Worst film you ever saw? Well, my next one will be better. Hello? Hello?

Apparently Seth MacFarlane, but I'm a huge fan of Family Guy, American Dad, and I thought his voice for Kraus in Hellboy 2 was perfect. However the Encyclopod just didn't sound like him

Where did you get that from? My understanding was that Seth MacFarlane sang the opening song and that was it.

I'm guessing it was John Dimaggio, David Herman, or Maurice LaMarche it sounded a lot like John Goodman so I'm leading more towards John Dimaggio because he is know to fill in for Goodman.

I'm almost certain that it isn't Di Maggio. While it is deeper than most of the other male actors, it seems to lack his usually-distinguishable inflection. It definitely sounds like someone older, and it really doesn't sound like someone trying that hard to create a voice.

At any rate, when the DVD drops in a few days, the commentary will reveal all.

edit: Upon rewatching that scene, I'm definitely leaning towards it being Maurice. When he responds to Zoidberg with "At any rate..." it sounds like Mo.

double edit: Not ruling out Di Maggio, actually.

It sounded like Optimus Prime. Who voiced Prime in the episode of Robot Chicken where he fake died of prostate cancer?

reply

According to the commentary it's Phil Hendrie. I did think that at first but I thought it couldn't be him because the Encyclopod isn't a member of the Waterfall family.

*actually upon listening to the commentary, or through simple logic on can learn that the encyclopod becomes the newest member of the Waterfall line, upon gaining the DNA of Hutch Waterfall.

reply

Doesn't that mean the Encyclopod should have died before the end of the movie?

reply

Not untill the next time, when another relative pops up.

btw is the Encyclopod a reference to something? For some reason, I think the idea of a giant mantra ray carrying life sounds like its referring to some mythical story...
