Look at our own public-run prison system and what an awful job it does, are they really trying to suggest that an alternative could possibly be worse?
Generally, the whole humor of this episode fell flat. Go ahead, call me a teabagger, that really makes you look like you've got a head on your shoulders worth listening to.
1.) You seem to be implying that the US doesn't already have privatized prisons.
2.) You seem to equate "public-run prisons are bad" with "private-run are beyond criticism", and thus presumably haven't scratched the theoretical surface of why privatized prisons are bad.
3.) I can see you take your Futurama seriously.
Mate, for-profit prisons are an absolute mess..what do think an enterprise whose sole reason of being is lock people up, is gonna do with themselves..maaybe fight hard to keep ridiculous marijuana laws in place so they keep locking people up for extremely minor offenses, such as possession? One of the many travesties these for-profit prisons create.
