Parody of 'Invasion Of The Body Snatchers?'

I was wondering, is this movie supposed to be a parody of "The Invasion Of The Body Snatchers?" In "Invasion Of The Body Snatchers", alien pods take over people bodies. Same memory, same habit, same everything, except, no emotion. In the Futurama movie "The Beast With A Billion Backs", Yivo's tentacles causes people to act strange and to love the tentacle.

Kind of, but it's more like "The Puppet Masters". In that movie (it was a book first), strange stingray-looking creatures attach themselves to a person's back and insert their sharp tail into the base of a person's neck to control them.
