Really? Not even one time? Honestly I thought the humor was mostly on par with Futurama's standards, but it was the story structure that was lacking in a big way.
Nag nag nag... will you people shut up with the "you don't love Futurama" or "you are not a fan" already??? You are starting to sound like Hypno-toad... if he had a voice.
Fact is, most people who watch it look for something entertaining, not something to love or be a fan of, and that could be a bad and a good thing. Because some people will end up not caring whatever happens in the show enough that is might just turn into another Family Guy... If you ask me, that's what TbwaBB just did... after BBS paved the way, people (particulary the ones new to the series) are too zoned out from the series to care more than just getting some laughs out of it and hardcore fans will just "enjoy" it no matter what, blinded and ignorant by their own ideas and concepts of how Futurama is/should be.
To me the movies are for the most part funny, yet the edge of that witty humor from the original series is pretty much gone... now some jokes are just borderline lame/retarded. Story and character development-wise its now closer to what South Park constantly mocked Family Guy for... total randomness. I used to know how characters would react or how the plot will go (yet it always had that edge on me, just enough to surprise and entertain me that much more)... now I feel as I'm just watching FG 2.0 or something... Ugh...
If the next 2 movies (especially the last) continue this way, I might just scrap my Futurama fandhood for good. Tho I am confidend some revelations in the last movie will "shed some light" on any bad taste it made untill now... (some over the top plot twist?... something that could build a solid base for a new series to come? I kind of hope so...).
I can understand where the OP is coming from, this movie was definitely below the show's standards. And a lot of the writing did seem a lot more puerile, and just generally cheaper than the usually witty standard.
