Calculon's 'Surgery'

In all the threads, I couldn't find any reference to this, so maybe I'm the only one who missed it, HOWEVER----

Why did Calculon have his "surgery" and why was that "surgery" never referenced again in the show?

reply

I think it was just an irrelevant joke about him getting some kind of modification to hit genitals. Basically just a throwaway kind of joke that wasn't related to the plot at all.

But it WAS related to the plot. The surgeon commented that it didn't look at all "realistic" which to me meant that he probably attached human genitalia to Calculon. But then when Bender goes off on one robot for having a human eye monocle, they go to a shot of Calculon, perhaps worrying that they'll discover his "natural enhancement". But nothing ever comes of that. In fact, it's never referenced again. This is either poor editing (cutting a scene) or poor writing (failing to call back to an earlier established plot point).

All in all, this movie is pretty crummy, and I LOVED "Bender's Big Score".

It's a reference to The Devil's Hands Are Idle Play Things, when he sold his ears.

Its a comedy show, there is no need all jokes are interconnected (dont know why some "people" likes to call plot hole EVERYTHING which is not related to the main plot!)
There are a LOTS of explanations about why the scene was there, a parody of hollywood unrealistic fashion standards its the most accurate.

If he was adding human genitals or adding robot genitals and making them so big it was unrealistic, both apply to this same parody.

Hey, did you ever see 'Tripping the Rift'? In one of the early episodes, the robot (which was voiced by Mo as well) had an, ehm, upgrade, and in the next scene the actual damn pipe is shown swinging around. I didn't watch much of the show but, oy, that image is a hard one to get rid of.

reply

yes, it was huge, like a big metal bat.

Calculon did not sell his ears.
He was already given his...
unholy acting talent!
