wtf was that? a sci-fi? lol

What's the point of making the main character a scientist if he doesn't even mention anything about the possible reasons for what happened on earth. There's basically no science at all in this film, while most of the characters are scientists in a pseudo sci-fi film - lol

Moreover - the dialogues were poorly written - most of the time there's no sense of urgency or any sort of attempts to understand the cause of Earth's destruction.

If you wanted to make a film with this type of dialogue, you should have at least made the main characters non-scientists. Even then, of course, it would have been a snoozefest - but at least there would have been some logic to it.

I dont see why any of what you said matters.

He’s a scientist because that puts him at this outpost where he has access to the equipment to call the astronauts.

He is out there by himself and the issues happened quickly...he doesn’t have the time or the ability to do extensive research on anything at this point.

He does outline what the problem is ... but we don't hear it because we hear it from the broken communication side of the exchange. Obviously they don't want the focus to be on that. Earth disaster X. This story isn't about the disaster. It's about the last hope for humanity and the emotional connection the scientist most connected to it has with whom will be the last humans.

It was OK. Not great but enjoyable in spite of the typical Hollywood space crew (ie. dumb).
