Scary Atmosphere???

I was looking forward to a movie with the same kind of earie atmosphere as THE OTHERS and I was very disapointed with what I saw. I found the acting bad, the camera work awful, and the haunted scenes pathetic. Im not going to be one of thoses posters who says WORST MOVIE EVER because I really dont think it is nor have I seen every movie ever made, but I do think that it is one of the worst movies I have watched. Just my opinion and im sure some viewers will enjoy the movie. Each to their own.

I totally agree! Haven't seen such a bad movie in ages. And for it to be so new? Didn't know they could still make'em this bad!

peze80 would you recomend any scary movies similar to The Others. I like scary movies that dont rely on visual effects to get a scare.

Hey clements860!

I'm glad some good can come out of this movie. Because yes, I can recommend at least two movies that kick bullocks compared to this movie.

First of all, a movie after having viewed it I wanted to see it again right away. That's how good it is.

The Skeleton Key (2005)

Not often you see Kate Hudson in a role like this, but the plot here is brilliant!

Secondly;

El orfanato (2007)

Spanish horror produced by Guillermo del Toro. Without spoiling anything, I pictured that creepy kid for several nights afterwards! Scary!

And as a little side note, if you REALLY want to be scared and you haven't already seen it;

Ju-on (2002)

And I'm talking about the Japanese ORIGINAL! There's a huge difference between this and the remake. Even though the director and some of the actors are the same. I have never been so scared by a movie as I was during and after this one! A true horror masterpiece!

Thanks for your reply. I actually own Skeleton Key but have yet to watch it so I will definately give it a damn good viewing tonight and let you know what I thought. Also I will do my best to watch the other movies that you sugested once I find where I can purchase them.

Also as soon as I think that I can recomend some movies for you to watch I wiull get back to you ASAP.

I've seen paranormal activity peze still get creeped out at night when i hear a noise in the house.

Hey carnage! I'm sorry but I've seen "Paranormal Activity" and it was bad. I caught it at an early screening, even got my face in the Norwegian trailer, but it just wasn't scary. It wasn't until the end things really started happening, but then it was too late. I grew up on horror movies so I'm hard to please. But even my girlfriend, who's generally easily scared, didn't find this movie very scary.
If you REALLY want to be scared there's only one movie that does it. The original "The Grudge" = Ju-On! I've never been so frightened!
