So...why didn't these artificial organs have trackers on them?

At least then they would be able to find these people who couldn't pay. Doesn't make any sense.

Makes no sense with how advanced and how valuable the parts are that they don't.

"Eat it, Twilight."

My thoughts exactly

no need each part has a RFID chip that allows them to simply be scanned via a potable devise

reply

Right, but you have to be within a certain range for it to work.

Plus, even if it was infinite range, can you imagine the *beep* if you were to use your little handheld scanner, then scan all these infinite range chips, and be absolutely bombarded by millions of "ARTIFORGS FOUND" notifications? Talk about useless.

Do us all a favor and stop posting.

You guys are overthinking this.

All they needed to do was throw in an ON/OFF switch that flips when the client is past due. The organ shuts down, the client kicks the bucket (or finds his way to a hospital), then the repo men retrieve the organ from an incapacitated target. Easy.

Designing the organs any other way is just ludicrous if you plan on repo'ing them later.

@ AGreenman19. Thats what I thought too. This movie had tons of little things like this that lowered the score for me.

That would require for the organ to have an inbuilt battery. The thing must be running on bodys own power generation. If it had a locator inbuilt it would consume way more energy. Human body is very efficient but it couldn't run something that could be located from a mile let alone world wide. Maybe a few hundred meters at most. ALso no one would buy it if the thing could be tracked that easily 24.7 for any reason.

The increase in human knowledge is the cause of the decline of religions.

reply

Wealthy people don't want to be monitored or tracked. You're just opening up a new underground black market for organs with tracking disabled or hackers to disable tracking at a price.

To see or not to see that is the question...

Better yet why not just do like they do at the buy here/pay here car lots. Give you a device that syncs with your organ. Every time you make your payment they can give you a code to put into the device and the device (maybe thru some kind of Bluetooth) will reset the organ for your next payment date.
