somehow ithaca didn't feel like a princess to me...

I mean, I'm lloking past the odd storyline at the moment and just at the princess. i felt like ithaca for the most part didn't convey princess to me. when i or most people think princess, they think disney princess: snow white, cinderella, sleeping beauty, ariel, belle, jasmine, pocahontas, mulan...ithaca was kind of cold and distant, she didn't believe in true love...it doesnt help that enchanted came out not to long ago and i felt liek amy adams fully conveyed teh disney princess aura. i cant say nora zehetner was terrible. i think a lot of it had to do with the character herself raher than who played her, but she was just so....not...

Oh, well, maybe that's because it was a DIFFERENT STORY. On that note, Nora definitely played the character VERY well. Not annoying or fake or overacted. She's a wonderful actress, although the movie is rather unsatisfying in a couple ways, but nothing having to do with her as an actress.

i totally underdstand that it is a different story, but one thing all the disney princesses have had in common for me is that they are kind of friendly or relatable or warm in personalityy. ithica was cold and distant. there is nothing against nora. she did well, but if you watch interviews they were trying to go for that disney princess thing and that just didnt convey for me in the personality of the character

Your arguement would be entirely valid if Ithaca was a Disney Princess, which she isn't. I think they were trying for that fairytale princess thing, but Disney doesn't corner the market on that. Nora did an excellent job in making a princess believeable. Not every princess ever believes in true love all their lives, but by the end of the movie, she believes in love and gets her happy ever after, so it does perscribe to that basic disney type ending.

Personally speaking, I think it was more believeable to have her develop into someone that believes in love and would sacrifice for that love, rather then just be a moon-brained calf the entire time.
