This character kid is ruining the movie for me....

The mother is sort of cool. The 17 year old is very cool. The girl is pretty cool. The deformed, screaming like a school girl, Midget Beaver Boy is grating on my nerves.
Couldn't they have found a less annoying actor???
I was really liking the movie, the FX, the characters until Midget Screaming Beaver Boy comes along. What a disgusting little troll.

I would cast him as a monster. You would not have to do much in the way of prosthetics to him. He could be a Rat Boy too!

he ruined the movie for me. he completely ruined this... i know it might not even be his fault either, probably the way he was directed, but omg his character was terrible.
I hate to say this but if I was a kid in the school i would probably avoid him as well, not sympathetic at all

Not me. I think he's great as the amusing sidekick - he provides terrific comic relief, same as he did in Super 8 as the pyromaniac.

Wow, I thought he was the only thing done 100% right in this entire film. The scene where he tries to pick a flavor of soda during an intense werewolf chase scene had me and my girlfriend cracking up. Stuff like that is funny, as were most of his lines.

A little harsher than the other critics, I see.

I'm one of the few (?) who thought he was one of the best things about the movie. Normally, I would find the comic relief in a movie that I feel would be better off without comedic elements to be unnecessarily annoying. But this kid did an awesome job in the role, if you ask me. All his great lines were delivered naturally and his deliberate over-the-top screaming was funny. To put it bluntly, I think his performance is one of the funniest given by such a young actor.

You want something corny? You got it!

I didn't mind Champ really. Though I was not too keen on his girlie screams and the close-ups of his teeth.
