I thought the film was great too ... what's the problem with the cynical guy on the other threads? I could spot one of my mates in every one of the talented lads you took part. Jeremy was fantastic - the best in my book.
The scouse lad was a bit naughty really when he wanted to go on his own but this film was a rights of passage 'becoming a man' film as much as meeting Maradona (for the viewer anyway) and in life you have to make hard decisions and he decided it was too risky for him to stay in a group - he felt there was a chance he would fail to see his idol.
If Nike had set it up they would have blew it ... they would have had a full meet with Maradona round his pool spending an half an hour - too set up - but the fleeting glipse the three lads got of him (before he went to Peru THAT DAY) prove that it was not set up. Maradona walked out his house, hugged the lads, signed their shirts and went there and then.
You made a great film with a good bunch of lads who may not be doctors or lawyers but they all have balls, self motivation and confiedence to become what they want in life ... not theives or in to drugs.
Cheers, Nick
