Hi, I worked from Argentina with the directors to help them with some legal stuff, and as far as I know it was real. The boys organized the trip and ask the filmmakers if they would like to go with them and film they adventure, so nothing was acted.

yes, it was REAL, 5 guys from the UK go to Latin America on a jolly sponsered by NIKE...did anyone absloutley *FAIL* to notice that ALL of their gear was NIKE...and anyone figure out that between them, the group has as much intellect as an amoeba...so how could they 'afford' this expensive NIKE gear?

Unless the scouser niked it, of course.

I believe this film is 'REAL' in that 5 thugs from the UK went to Latin America...but conveniently forget to mention that thaey stayed in 5 start hotels most nights and had fresh sportsgear proviided by several generous donators to the fuilm.

mcak91 I´m from Argentina and I saw this film yesterday on ESPN. In the end of the movie Walter Queijeiro(one of the guys of the tv show "Fútbol para todos"--"football for everyone") said that they where sponsored by nike(they gave them some kits and I think they also sponsored the travel to the US). But I think that no one had a real Argentina jersey(by adidas...the ones they had where fake ones...problably because of nike...but they could gave them Boca Juniors jerseys...Diego is a huge fan also and is one of the most populars).
It was cool to see people from England having Diego as an idol.

it's a marketing campaign by nike.

About as 'real' as Will Smith's rapping.

Im curious whether youve seen the film, watched the behind the scenes footage, read the boys interviews etc....because as someone integrally involved in the making of this film I can tell you that your comment is not only ill informed, lacking in validity and idiotic, but also really insulting both to the film makers and way more importantly the boys themselves. These 5 boys came to us with an incredible dream, that they would most definately have attempted with or without our production team. The terrible things these boys had gone through in their past and lives they were trying to put behind them were what inspired them to attempt this incredible journey, not money or fame as you so cynically suggest. I guess its probably not entirely your fault, youve probably never had the balls to go after something when it seems imposible, or had a dream so strong that it doesnt matter that everyone tells you to give up. Given this I guess its probably depressing when you see others succeed, thankfully most other people saw it as inspiring. Good luck with what must be a very miserable existence.

garysinyor, the comment about it being an advert for Nike is funny, they are just trying to wind you up.

It was 100% real as I saw the 5 lads on BBC evening news, talking about how they were planning that trip.

At the time it was not mentioned it would be filmed or that it would be available to buy on DVD.

Just watched it and its excellent, not for one second was I at all bored. All that time spent practicing those ill skills and tricks proper paid off.

Don't stoop to their level Producers. There are people here who couldn't even white balance , let alone make a film of this magnitude that tells an amazing and very satisfying story. This was an excellent film, it had all the ingredients and you could see the desire and sacrifices made by not only the boys but the production team too.
I look forward to seeing your next project and, as an editor would love to work with you: [email protected].
To all those doubting the credentials of this film you should be ashamed of your comments and I wonder why you are veen on this forum at all.
Rant over.

This was a Docu-drama rather than a documentary.
