From this film I can see that India animation may become bigger than Disney and Pixar. We have so many great stories to tell and a lot of History. Hollywood is a mature industry and I can see Bollywood Animation become the new Animation centre of the world.
Sigh! This is a movie from Disney, and even if it were not, it would still take a very long time for the Indian film industry to catch up with Hollywood. While it may be true that we do have a couple of good movies out there, we do have to accept the bitter fact that our industry needs major reworking. Also the fact that Hollywood movies have an international audience, while Indian movies are mainly seen in India and by Indians living abroad, does not help at all. Thats why Hollywood can afford to invest humongous amounts of money in films, and have higher standards of production. But all said and done, the Indian scenario is shifting, albeit slowly. To the OP: I do admire your level of passion and patriotism, but we have to accept facts for what they are. We are not there yet, but I sure hope we do.
"Can you imagine what I would do if I could do all I can?" - Sun Tzu, Art of War.
the industry needs to realize that all the greatest animation teams in the world won't make up for a good story. there are sooo many great stories to be told from old indian history to literature, and none of that gets made. just the same lame attempt at trying to copy hollywood. indians used to be better than that, now every other movie is a lame ripoff of a jim carrey or ben stiller movie.
ummmm jus to correct everyone on this thread ..... this movie was "co-produced" by YRF & Disney but the entire 3D process was done in India .. the studio concerned was Visual Computing Labs - TATA ELXSI, i know this cos i work for this studio, if u idiots would have waited 4 the end credits most of u wud have read our names at the end of the movie ..... newaz i just like to add pls dont start comparing us & da quality of animation, lighting, composting with the likes of Pixar/Dreamworks jus yet plssssss....we still have sometime to go before we can do dat.... this was jus the start Roadside Romeo is the 1st of its kind movie to be made in India Rendered entirely on Renderman ... and dont worry we have many more 3D movies cum'n out to catch up with the big boys, we are learning as we go along.
