The Albino Farm is REAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!

From what I have read - there really is a REAL albino farm and a legend to support it. It is all based around a local urban myth in the Springfield Missouri area. You can go to a website called underground ozarks to see all of these creepy pictures about the real place. http://www.undergroundozarks.com/springlawn.html
I'm glad they chose to do a film about the albino farm as it's neat to see something that focuses on the Ozark area.

Yep its true its real, but its nothin to special. I live in Springfield and i've been there before. Nothin happened besides the cops comin and tellin us we had to leave because it was private property.

reply

Who needs a urban myth? There are real rednecks that bang relatives that live in the Ozarks.

Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by rulers as useful.

Yes, yes - it's all true. We are a bunch of uneducated, inbred hicks. If I were you, I wouldn't come near here. And tell your friends to stay away as well. Save yourself.

What a load of BIGOTS you people are. What scum talks about people like that? You don't know the first thing about people that live in the Ozarks. Most of these people are good, kind, loving people that open up their home, their community to visitors and treat them like friends.

Grow up and get rid of your racist, bigoted bullcrap.

do you honestly think that these people really think that? they're just having a laugh at someone else's expense and im' sure the people in the ozarks are intelligent enough to not take themselves to seriously.

bloody moral highground-walkers make me ashamed to use the same forums they do.

reply

Hmmmmm, I wonder how funny it would be if the person "having a laugh at someone's expense" was saying something disparaging about Black people? Jews? It's all fine when it's a "redneck" though, right?

Perhaps you should apply your own ethics and not take me *too* seriously?

Bloody non-capitalizing-the-beginning-of-sentences-folk make me wince when reading their comments.

A sig line that is a quote from a man who believed in God and tutored a ruler that persecuted the religious. Hmmmmm. A more delicious contradiction is difficult to imagine.

When are you people going to take the time to learn what the hell you are talking about before making classifications you can't even define, much less recognize?

Look at snakes... some people say all snakes are the same, but it is a very good idea to know how to tell a copperhead from a cottonmouth before it gets close enough to actually see inside the mouth. If you are unlucky (or unobservant, or just flat-out stupid) enough to be bitten, you should know if it was a moccasin or a chicken-snake.

Rednecks do not live in the mountains or foothills... those would be hillbillies, and there are several kinds.

Start there, and if you manage to learn a thing or two try moving on to the other areas if you think you can figure things out. Good luck if you even bother to suck it up and try to learn a little... outsiders are usually unable to get beyond the basics.

Or you can always bond with the other idiots in the ER that wanted to pet or feed the cute turtle...

There is a farm on the North side of Springfield, that the "urban legend" is based on. But that is all it is. The only scary part was all the expectation driving there, realizing it was across from a wealthy looking sub-division, then getting chased away by a large farm truck, and what sounded like the cocking of a shotgun.

Lived in Springfield for 8 years, 4 for college, another 4 to save up money to get out of there.

The "Albino Farm" has very little real legend to it. I've not seen the movie, but I think it is hilarious that it was made, and I'll watch it just to see how cheesy it is.

Yes, I've read a poem. Try not to faint.

There are tons of legends about that place, and the Underground Ozarks website does a decent job of trying to collect them, as well as separating the actual history from the myths, but it doesn't even come close to capturing all the legends that have been circulating about that place for several decades.

I personally saw some pretty messed up stuff out there in the late 80s. During that time, there was either an actual satanic group using the place for their rites, or there were some stupid and violent kids who were doing their level best to make people think that was going on. On one "ghost-hunting" jaunt back in my college days, we stumbled across a fire circle that was a few days old, with a bundle wrapped in a sleeping bag in the middle of it. Out of morbid curiosity, we unrolled the sleeping bag and found a gutted and ritualistically mutilated dog that was partially burned, but you could still see crosses and pentagrams and other symbols cut into the skin. That was pretty messed up!
