Cute but...

Yes, it's a cute Hollywood rom com and I did enjoy the love story, but didn't it feel a bit too cheap? Like no one cared about any of the details at all.

I don't think I've seen any other movie on this level where they so aparantly use the same stock footage twice. They were filming part of it in Mumbai, why not just get a few more exterior shots?

And the "Swedish" that Hawskins was supposed to be speaking... I had to listen 5 times before I could figure out what they had wanted him to say, and it was so wrong what came out. No Swedish person would understand, let alone respond like Ula did. And that is another thing. Ulla is spelled with two L and it is almost only a name for the generation now in their 60's. Using it becomes a parody, but in this film that part wasn't supposed to be funny.

And Granger was out of character a few too many times. Was he a nice guy or the guy who dates an ice cold supermodel and loves that she is not jealous (so he can fool around)? Was he a well educated executive or the guy who disgustingly blows his noes in the restaurant?

Okay, nothing important but so many odd details that it made me think whoever made the movie didn't care about it at all - and that makes me feel like an idiot for watching it.

you are very perceptive, and i am amazed at the things you noticed, though i didnt watch it that clocely. you should be in the business, with skills like that. maybe as a producer, editor, or something. wow

I totally agree!

The storyline is ok, and most of the cast too. Things that annoyed me and ruined my experience was the stock fotage first rewinding and then normal, it's lika some one in the editing room was in a rush and or have no sense of quality control. One actor totally rubbed me the wrong way was Anupam Kher (the father) never seen him before, i pegged him as a friend of the producer or something that got a role for that reason alone ....yes he was so bad. I guessed him to be a westerner which after the movie imdb helped me to discover i couldnt be more wrong, but during the movie he annoyed me.

Better editing and this would have been a very nice movie now i would rate it 4-5 for the lack of quality. The storyline was good though.

Can't understand why you dislike him. It would make sense to dislike the CHARACTER, not the actor! This actor is proven over very many years and can act most people under the table. And you pegged him as a westerner???

He was the best actor in the movie and like Val-El said he is very accomplished.

What worried me was whether or not an Indian gal such as Priya would actually feel allowed to have a relationship with a Westerner, much less to pursue it by going to the U.S. to hopefully meet him. A lot of cherished mores in various cultures may be falling by the wayside if movies are to be believed, e.g., Dirty Pretty Things in which a Muslim girl is compromised, and Twist of Faith, in which an Orthodox Jewish guy purportedly falls for a Southern Baptist.

And about Hawksin ... I know he could probably play anything. But here in the U.S., if you see Larry Miller, you immediately get ready to laugh. He's usually very comedic, so I took his part to be comical.
