Devil May Babysit!

I really loved the DMC games. Bought, played, and beat every single one, but this anime seems like a cruel joke. First of all, it seems to totally dismiss almost EVERYTHING from the games and storyline, just plucking characters and items from here and there (ex. Trish is there, so it would be post-DMC 1, but he still carries the Rebellion sword from DMC 3, not Allister or the Sparda sword.) Sparda, who the storyline is built on, is only mentioned in one episode and Dante never goes into devil mode.

Secondly, the average fight time in the show is about 8 seconds from start to finish, making the action extremely lame. He kills most baddies in half a second with a pull of the trigger. No Stylish Rating here!

Third, the make the character of Dante an extreme lame-ass who babysits a snobby little girl and eats strawberry sundaes, sitting around his office with his nose in magazines and sleeping. The themes of each episode got more and more lame as they went on and the demons were a joke as well.

I guess it's a good thing this show only went on for 13 eps because I couldn't stand to sit through a complete season of it.

Agreed so much.

The girl was a little annoying, and early implemented, but I think it was decent to put some form of vulnerability to Dante...if someone stole her it would add drama, making the series a little more like cinematic than a game. Besides, he was a bit of a pizza eating, back-talking guy who liked to lounge at his bar.

I would have preferred it if they partnered Dante with a sassy black kid...or a talking monkey.

Some people say I'm robbing the cradle, but I like to think that she's robbing the grave!
