Does he still got it?

Since his last few movies, especially Hero Wanted (what a big dissapointment that movie), I am very sad to say, that I don't care about his movies no more, too many mediocur or even bad ones, especially lately. But do I give up on him, 'cause he's still a good actor. Is money and status more important to him, or has he been the unluckiest actor in Hollywood and can't get anything better, or thought it would have been better, with the right people. So, does he still got it and do I keep watching him in all his movies, or do I let the opinions of others make the desition for me. What do you' all think, does Cuba Gooding Jr. still got it?

I think he just needs the right role. Hero Wanted and Dirty were both disappointments as were others that I can't recall. But with the right director and scripts he still has it.

Yeah, I guess so. Same thing happened for example to Heath Ledger, when he got the right role in a great movie (Brokeback Mountain ofcause), he got the oppurtionaty to get better roles, just a pity he died, otherwise he would have made many more, did you see him in The Dark Knight? I never saw an actor play an excisting role (Jack Nicholson's performance as the Joker) as well as Ledger did in TDK. A real spitting image of a younger Jack Nicholson/Joker, with the exact same facial expressions etc. But lately a lot of actors have made a come-back, thanks to directors as Tarantino and Rodriquez, they always have a great ensemble of young new actors but also a few we haven't seen since the 80's and 90's and that's cool, like David Carradine and Mickey Rourke and he dídn't even look that good, he was a stud in his old movies, especially 9,5 Weeks. So you'll never know, maybe Cuba will get lucky again, but he has to stop making movies as Hero Wanted, but I also agree that he hasn't made that many bad movies, yet anyway....

He was damn good in "Dirty"...one of the highlights of that film.
He definitely still has it, he stole the show in the little screen time he had in "American Gangster". I wish he would get more big screen roles or at least a great tv show role.
