THe ONLY redeeming factor of this movie

was the women, who were gorgeous and actually looked exactly as if they stepped out of that time period. Also, the women soldiers were the survivors, breaking a cliche. Everything else sucked.

Well, the "102-pound girl" had rather chubby cheeks . . .

.

reply

Yeah, when she said "I weight 100 lbs," I was like "Bloody hell you do, chubby cheeks."

"I like you." "I like you too."

reply

she was really short

reply

No, she was actually a bit taller than the other two subordnate girls (I dunno about the Commander)

reply

she actually does weigh slightly more than that but not much in real life. she is thin and healthy. apple cheeks do not mean that the person is overweight.

reply

and the rest of her was in no way at all chubby. have you not ever seen anyone with apple cheeks who is thin? happens quite often.

reply

Thanks! I did the makeup, and it's nice to hear something nice about it! lol
What some may not realize is that it was a very stylized- 'sci-fi' movie, in which the director wanted the girls to be reminisent of the good'ol King Kong days... Where the female is in mortal peril throughout the entire film, and yet she still looks perfect. I found it in the end to be quite fun ;)

Any other work for Sci Fi that you have lined up ?

reply

No not yet. Though the exec prod. wants to hire me for his other sci fi movies, but none are to be made too soon. Maybe another year? I have no clue. Though I'm currently doing a new pilot for hbo called 1%

Hoodsie's Clara Bow-style, cupie-doll lips were adorable! "Short and sweet and good to eat!"

Congrats on a good job on very authentic period make-up. Now how they managed to kepe it on throughout several days stranded in the jungles on a remote island is another issue entirely... :)

reply

haha! Thanks! Ya, i have no idea how we managed to keep on their looks either- especially in 90% humidity and 90 degree weather.... ;) lol

reply

Hi Laurene, i think you did a great make-up job! Like i've said many times before i love the 40's era make up on beautiful girls, and you nailed the era right on the head with the lipstick, and everything. I think my love of beautiful girls in 40's era make-up came from me watching the movie "A League Of Thier Own" every night lol!

I love all the girls in the movie, and thier style, but my favorite girls were Vicky and Max played by Gizza Elizondo, and Jamie Elle Man. Those eyes of hers. She makes me feel all sweaty and funny feeling. My god did they look sexy and beautiful in the make-up!

Much respect Laurene, i hope to see more of you're work very soon!
