Lo and Justin (spoilers)

Looking back at the events in the film, knowing the ending, you suddenly realize just how much Lo loved Justin. It did everything demonically possible to scare the kid off. It even pointed out the exact page that would let him walk away harm free at the beginning of the movie.

But this thing is, I don't think Lo even knew what that emotion was until Justin tried to explain it to Jeez (or the phantom of Jeez played by Lo depending on your interpetation). Lo was confused about why it spent so much time protecting this scrawny ape and by the end of the film it was laughing at the irony that the guy it loved was lecturing it on how it would never feel what he felt.
