Is this one of those movies where the workers gave the high rating votes

Is this actually worth watching? its on netflix instant for a couple more days but it seems to me its only about time where it will get a lower rating if someone actually hears about it or watches it unless, some worker on it makes multiple more accounts to rate it a 10

Ive noticed the overall rating is at a acceptable 6.0 at this point but the trailer gives me the impression the movie is a mess combo of cringe worthyness and poor theater display.

The mass votes seem also giving it a 10/10 which is usually movies that are "questionable" on imdb (ie. 10/10 or 1/10 fanboy or people working on the movie votes) where it only seems you can take the 3rd or 4th most voted rating serious.

Ive seen alot of poor horror movies something thats also proven to me that the imdb rating system really works well except for those mass 1/10 & 10/10 but also a overall rating beneath 5.5 in general is a movie where you would wish you got your money or time back

Also alot of the message board threads with low count of response seems rather dodgy and are short thread names or short lines of text glorifying it or creating some attention/positive feedback to the user who quickly skims through the message board

Okay, So I have no connection to this film other than I stumbled upon it while browsing Netflix. Before I begin telling you about Lo and how wonderful it is I will preface my humble review with my own bias, I am a sucker for supernatural stories especially any having to do with hell and demons.

First off this is not a horror movie, it has dark elements and some scary images and characters but its not a horror movie, any more than shawn of the dead was a horror movie.

The best way to describe Lo, in my opinion, is a filmed stage play, its dialogue, costumes, and make-up are akin to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, if the writer isn't a fan of Joss Whedon I'd be surprised.

The majority of the movie takes place in front of a darkened back drop with Justin and Lo having a back and forth, flashbacks are told as though they're live plays being performed for Justin and Lo, there are puppets and even a musical number.

Lo is fun and enjoyable, I've watched it multiple times and enjoy it more and more, if you're a fan of the genre you'll enjoy this movie.

You will all taste oblivion... Which tastes like Red Bull.... Which is disgusting!

This is the first time ever I write a comment here, but after reading all the reviews about this movie and trying to watch it, I just had to do it. So, yes, your answer is YES, it has to be the people involved with the movie the ones who are giving it great reviews because this movie sucks in every possible way, apart from Lo's make up, which I thought was pretty convincing.
This could be fun to watch in a local theater , but it doesn't work in a movie format and the funny quotes are better when you read then instead of watch them.

If you wanna watch a movie about a smart devil, go for The Devils Advocate. Even if you have already seen it. It's better than hurting your eyes and your ears with this. Unless you have very low standards.

Also, the guy who plays Lo seems to be the only good actor in the movie, but he played it like the Grinch (Jim Carey's one), so I kept making the connection through the whole thing.

I completely agree with you, this movie is bad, bad, bad. And Lo looks like the Grinch.

Its very much worth watching. Costumes are great, sound effects are better then most movies containing demons.
Story however farfetched but keeps you going.
Acting, well could be better but it sure doesnt kill the fun of it. Theres alot of *beep* out there you could do worse watching.

But then again, i have a softspot for cheap movies like this that dont go overboard with excessive visual bling and empty shallow blabla and rather tell a story.

This movie is fantastic. I watched it again recently and I honestly hold it in high regards as one of my favourite quirky indie movies.

It's well written and it's incredibly charming. Although the movie all takes place in one room it manages to hold your attention incredibly well. Can't praise this movie enough and it's a shame that it's been so overlooked.
