SONG SUGGESTIONS for Y@H

Any suggestions for Mr. Bob Cilman and the young @ heart chorus?

Don't know if they're reading this but I'd propose the Foo Fighter's "the pretender", not only it's a great song but it also has the refrain:
"what if I say that I'll never surrender" which kinda embodies the spirit of their chorus, to never surrender.

Any others? If so also explain why if you will.

"People Get Ready" by Curtis Mayfield. Because it's a beautiful, uplifting song.

I'd suggest "Great Divide" by Hanson (yes laugh...go ahead). But its a really hard core great song about hope.

How about: "Veronica" by Elvis Costello (A song about his grandma and Alzimer's (sp?) Disease.)
"Jeremy" by Pearl Jam (Because just want to see them do that "woo-woo" part.)
"Fingertips" by They Might Be Giants (It has so many individal lines that most everybody in the chorus could get one.)
"Push the Little Daisies" by Ween (It's a fun song!!!)
"Shiny Happy People" by REM (A nice, light song with a positive message.)
"The Great Curve" by Talking Heads (Bob Cilman as a TH fan, already. I think it could be a real showstopper.)
"Til My Head Falls Off" by They Might Be Giants (A great song keeping one's diginity in the face of senility. (sp?))

That's all I have for now....

Send Me on My Way - Rusted Roots (uplifting and beautiful)
Miss You - Rolling Stones (it would be great to hear them do the the WHOOO-OOO-OOO-WHOO-O-WHOO" part)
I Kissed a Girl - Katy Perry (that would just be hilarious and awesome and fun)
Free Fallin' - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers (bc it's an amazing song by an amazing group and would be perfect)

I also agree with the REM suggestions and B-52s and the suggestion for Great Divide by Hanson. That song is performed with a choir (or at least sounds like it) so they would fit that perfectly.

"The Story" by Brandi Carlile would be perfect, especially the opening verses:

All of these lines across my face
Tell you the story of who I am
So many stories of where I've been
And how I got to where I am
But these stories don't mean anything
When you've got no one to tell them to
It's true...I was made for you

"Ooh La La" by The Faces - there's a great line in it that goes something like "I wish that I knew what I know now when I was younger".

"Der Kommissar" by After the Fire - energetic and funky.

"Closer to Free" by The Bodeans - the lyrics are fantastic.
