Young@Heart (review)


I have read several comments speaking to the poignancy of Fred's rendition of "Fix You" by Coldplay. It was certainly a touching tribute. But I was equally impressed with a less visible (almost passing) rendition of Sinead Oconnors "Nothing Compares 2 U." These seniors have moxy. An octogenarian choir doesn't seem like the thing a good documentary is made of. But in this case, it is a heart-warming feel-good endeavor. The music interpretations were unique and engaging, the subjects provide intimate looks into their personal lives and the tragedy that accompanies the production brings home the delicate nature of life. These seniors demonstrate the secret to longevity. Optimism. They convey it throughout the movie as they embrace lyrics generations removed from their own. My full review can be found at:
